9th Battalion Royal Queensland Regiment (9 RQR)

The 9th Battalion is the strongest, fittest and readiest Reserve unit in the Australian Defence Force. It is our country's lead Reserve Battalion.

The Battalion's mission is to train light infantry in order to provide forces for deployment on operations. The Battalion is currently preparing soldiers for deployment to Timor Leste.

The 9th Battalion is a light infantry battalion and trains soldiers in many skills including navigation, first aid, weapon handling, communications, the use of night vision equipment and military tactics. The training and experience members receive develop their personal confidence, management skills and physical fitness. Service with the Battalion provides members with advanced leadership skills and abilities. Every soldier in 9 RQR is a leader.
