Delta Company

Delta Company (D Coy) is the Metro based Infantry Company for 11/28 Battalion (Bn). The Company primary role is Infantry however the soldiers are flexible enough to allow them to preform almost any task, whether it be patrolling in enemy territory or providing aide to the civil power in an urban environment.

Introduction

D coy is made up of 3 rifle platoons, each platoon containing approximately thirty soldiers. D coy is the primary company in the Force Protection Company Group (FPGC) and tasked to undertake various activities related to the daily work of an infantry battalion.

Some of the conventional infantry tasks that Delta coy may be required to perform include:

• patrolling
• cordon and search
• area defence
• construction of field defences
• and other basic infantry tasks

The company regularly conducts weekend exercises where soldiers have the opportunity to practice these taskings.

The individual skill sets applicable to an infantry soldier in Delta coy, consist of:

• weapon maintenance and operation
• identification of objects in the field
• general fieldcraft
• navigation
• camouflage and concealment
• building field defences
