Available Positions
21 Construction Regiment is unique amongst Army reserve units in that it can offer many interesting positions which cater for all levels of interest and skills.
The skills learned as a member of the Regiment are varied and the competencies and licences gained during military courses are generally accepted by the civilian authorities and may be recognised as part of civilian acreditation.
Qualified Tradespeople and specialist personnel
Qualified Tradespeople and specialist personnel are required for the following positions:
- Carpenters
- Plumbers
- Electricians
- Surveyors
- Plant Operator
- Draftsman
- Engineer
People without Qualifications
We can train you as:
- Combat Engineer
- Plant Operator
- Driver
- Medic
Conditions of Entry
- You need to be between 17 and 55 years old.
- You need to be of good general health
- You need to be an Australian citizen or have lodged your application for citizenship.
- You need to have passes in English and Maths at year 9 level.
- You need to produce original or certified copies of Birth and Citizenship Certificates.
Training Commitments
Depending on your role in the Regiment, training commitments are:
- Tuesday night parades 6.30pm - 9.30pm
- One training weekend per month Saturday 7am - Sunday 4pm
- Continuous Training blocks of up to two weeks to complete Recruit Course Training, Initial Employment Training modules and specialist training courses.
Pay and Allowances
Army Reserve Pay is:
- Tax-free
- Credited directly into your nominated account monthly
Does not affect:
- Austudy,
- Social Security
- Any other Government allowance.
The Army Reserve pays for:
- All your training,
- Transport to and from courses,
- All uniforms and equipment needed
Other allowances that may be paid are:
- Field Allowance for extended periods in the field.
- Meal Allowance for traveling on service time.
- Travel Allowance when traveling to and from duty.
- Separation Allowance when separated for an extended period away from a spouse or partner in a recognised relationship.
