Unit History and 21 Association

Unit History

The Australian Army has a rich history of service to the country in both war and peace. Army recognises that the study and use of this history provides educational and functional value for soldiers.

Unit History is important to maintain and to continue to develop and record the activities and changes in the Unit, its personnel and the ADF environment. Every member of the unit is part of the unit's ongoing history and must be aware of and celebrate the activities and stories of previous members, IOT continue the great tradition of family and camaraderie of the Regiment into the future.

21 Const Regt has a long and proud history as a Reserve unit in the ADF since being raised in August 1950. For almost 60 years the Regiment's members have worked together, played together, rejoiced in each other's good fortune and sadly grieved the loss of good mates. Their incredible length of service saw them grow together and their commitment not only to their unit but to their country saw them share that unique mateship of uniformed service. 21 Construction Regiment has a deep and well developed sense of camaraderie and a family feel which is rare to find in other units.

A brief overview of the Unit's History is attached below.
