(Bushmaster PMV)

The Bushmaster PMV is a light armoured 4x4 designed to provide protected battlefield mobility to a section of troops (9 men). The vehicle's design characteristics provide enhanced protection from small arms, mine blast and mortar fragments. The PMV will provide troops with unprecedented battlefield endurance through its range, seating and troop configuration, environmental control systems and arms and equipment carrying capacity. The embedding of this new capability within combat units will allow troops to be dispatched swiftly to meet modern operational requirements with enhanced survivability, arriving 'fit to fight'. The PMV's purpose is to bridge the capability gap that presently exists between Army's B Vehicle Fleet and its AFVs, allowing motorised combat troops to manoeuvre throughout the battlespace with greater speed and protection than is presently afforded by in-service troop carrying systems.
