ANZAC DAY 2010
Anzac Day
Anzac day 2010 began with gun fire breakfast in the 7 Field Battery drill hall, with the Autumn weather being extremley kind to Western Australia, the move outside for the Dawn service was without the normal cold welcome. The service was well attended and tributes were given by the BC and the Colonel Commandant before the wreath laying ceremony was conducted. The Bugle was played at exactly 6am intime for sunrise concluding the service.
Breakfast was then served in the drill hall with quiet an array of food available mushrooms, tomato, beans, scrambled egg, bacon, sausages and of course tea and coffee. For Battery members it was a quick bit to eat, quick chat and then off to get changed into ceremonial polyesters and then ready to get onto the buses to make our way to the city for the march.
The march kicked off right on time with a huge crowd gathered in the city to cheer on those marching, so loudly it was hard to hear anything else but this only added to the electric atmosphere being generated.
After the march it was back onto the buses and back to the Battery to start the two up off and the stories and memories to start rolling.
A great day was had by all and thanks to all those who assisted in making it a memorable day.
