Battery Commanders Call
The BC's call weekend was conducted over the weekend of the 12 Feb 11 to 13 Feb 11 this saw the BTY deploy to Garden Island Naval Base on the Saturday morning. Whilst the command group were thrashing out how the year was going to develop SGT Hicks had the OR's going through their paces at the WTTS firstly to engage LF1 for currency before participating in some scenario based training designed to enforce the rules of engagement. This proved very beneficial especially for some of the younger and less experienced from the battery. The OR's then joined the command group for discussion on the battery structure.
The BC then opened it to questions which resulted in some robust discussion. Sunday morning was the battery up at 0500 to conduct the first BFA of the year, which to everybody's credit all mbrs who attempted passed, well done to all concerned.
After Quick Decision Exercises that all ranks participated in, the teams were scored on performance with the wining team taking out the trophy. The wining team was the Joint Fires Team, the morning culminated with a gun race between the Rockingham troop and the Karrakatta troop, with Karrakatta taking out the overall decision after penalty points were deducted from the Rockingham troop for safety.
