Organisation/ Structure

8/7 RVR is a regional, country based unit, with depots from Ballarat, Bendigo, Geelong, Laverton, Warrnambool, Mildura, Swan Hill, Shepparton and Monegeetta. The Battalion's three Rifle Company's (Alpha, Bravo and Charlie) still retain responsibility for geographically proximate depots, but their members can parade at any 8/7 RVR depot within their region. Imbedded into the Battalion's rifle Companies, the Battalion has Support Company Platoons (sigs, recon and pioneers), and Administration Company.
The Recruiting Cell is responsible for recruiting and assisting in the training of Private recruits prior to attendance at Reserve Recruit Training Centre (Kapooka, NSW).
