Training on the Mag 58

The training commitment for Reservists is based on their employment and the requirements of the service and category they join. Generally this is one night per week, two full weeks per year and one weekend per month. This does not include training to qualify you as a Private soldier and your initial employment training, usually two x 2 week periods. Once qualified, Army Reservists can work as few as 20 days a year to as many as 150 days.

On Enlistment you will be required to commit to attending the Reserve Recruit Training Cource (RRTC) Kapooka, Wagga Wagga NSW. Training duration is 28 Days plus travel time, totalling 30 days.

Reservists may also be required to attend additional training to complete promotion or professional development courses.

There is flexibility for people whose civilian occupations don't allow them to fully participate in the training requirements as indicated above.
