Adventurous Training Wing
The Adventurous Training Wing of 1 Recruit Training Battalion at Blamey Barracks, Kapooka, NSW trains and qualifies ADF members as Unit Adventurous Training Leaders (UATLs).
The role of a UATL is to conduct adventurous training for their unit and to support the conduct of adventurous training in other units.
The Adventurous Training Wing qualifies UATLs in the following disciplines:
- basic roping (eg abseiling and ascending)
- rock climbing
- caving
- canyoning
- advanced roping (eg lead climbing, basic aid climbing, complex rigging)
- nordic skiing and snow survival
- white water kayaking
- white water rafting
- sea kayaking
