Introduction

The Active and Standby Staff Group (ASSG) is an Army Reserve Unit (Directorate) of Army Headquarters. It has a HQ based in Canberra and representation in each State and Territory. The ASSG membership consists of Officers, Warrant Officers and Other Ranks who are either: Active Reserve (AR) members posted to the ASSG, Standby Reserve (SR) members registered for work with the ASSG, and AR members posted to other Army Reserve Units who are registered for work with the ASSG and have approval to do so from their Commanding Officer.
