Museum's Role

The purpose of the Army Museum is to excite curiosity and interest in the Army heritage of New South Wales, from 1788 to the present, and to promote understanding of the significance of the Army as an integral part of the culture and social heritage of New South Wales.

The Army Museum of New South Wales is closed from Sunday, 11 December 2011 for the Christmas holidays. During this period major refurbishment of the Museum building is being undertaken. Re-opening dates are uncertain due to this work. Enquiries may be made by phoning the Museum on 02 8335 5330 and leaving a message. Staff are available on Tuesdays and Thursdays.

Parking

Parking in the barracks is not usually permitted.

Guided Tours of the Barracks

Guided tours of the barracks at 10:00 AM on Thursdays. Bookings for parties of 10 or more are essential.
