Richard's Story

Having left the Australian Army in 2001, Richard is delighted to be back and feels he is now where he needs to be and where he belongs.

Welcome

We've changed, have you?

The Army has an innovative new initiative called Project Boomerang. This aims to fill selected Army vacancies within both officer and soldier employment categories across our organisation.

As Chief of Army, I strongly encourage you to look at our current vacancies and to take the time to listen to the experience of others who've returned to Army.

If you are an ex-Regular Army member, who has left the Army in the last five years, and you are looking for job security, good salary, mateship and a healthy lifestyle, then Army is definitely where you belong. If you have the skills and qualifications that Army is looking for, and you're motivated to re-join the team, please give us a call. We aim to respond to all enquires within five working days.

Should you wish to return, our career management team will provide all the support you need to make the transition back to Army as simple as we can. You will be given tailored training so you can return to duty in the Army as soon as possible.

Army has recently undergone the most significant organisational change in forty years. We value our people as our number one priority and we recognise the experience gained by those who choose career paths out of the Army.

We will be very welcoming of new skill sets and the increased expertise you can bring to the Army upon your return. One thing is clear about the Army today – we've changed, have you?
