Cricket Club

Welcome to the home of the Royal Military College Cricket Club , celebrating 100 years of cricket
The RMC Cricket Club was first established in 1911 playing its first match on the 18 November 1911. The club has existed in many forms since then and today it remains a sporting club within RMC and competes both internally and externally to Defence. In 1956, RMC began its long association with the Molonglo Cricket Club (originally GPS Old Boys).
In 1964, recognising the close association with the Molonglo Cricket Club (MCC), the Commandant, Major General C. H. 'Basil' Finlay instituted the annual RMC Commandant's XI Vs MCC match. The first Commandant's XI match was on 8 Mar 1964. The annual Commandant's XI match has been contested every year since. This year also marks the RMCs centenary year with officer training commencing here in 1911. As part of the RMCs centenary celebrations RMC is hosting a centenary cricket match against the MCC on the 16 Oct 11.
The centenary cricket match seeks to bring together previous and current RMC members, well known defence and cricket representatives to celebrate not only the centenary of the college but also the centenary of the cricket club. In doing so we see to foster the charter of the RMC and the sporting values of leadership, mateship and teamwork.
I have pleasure in inviting you to attend our centenary cricket dinner to be held in the Corps of Staff Cadets Mess, Duntroon on Saturday, 15 October 2011 and the centenary cricket match to be held at Alamein Oval, Duntroon on Sunday, 16 October 2011.
