Trainees with spouses

Life for married cadets is a little bit different than for single cadets. As well as having their partners and families at home, they are also expected to maintain a room in the barracks. They must attend roll call, lessons, parades, sporting events and compulsory functions the same as single cadets. However, once lessons are finished for the day, married cadets return home.
Many married cadets use their home as a study and social hub for their peers. This allows a more relaxed environment for cadets to complete study tasks or relax for a barbeque with other cadets.
When going on field exercises, married cadets experience additional pressures as they are out of contact with their families for extended periods of time. This can be anywhere up to ten days or, in the case of ICT, up to nine weeks.
