Other Ranks (Non Technical)
2 Commando Regiment (formerly 4th Battalion, Royal Australian Regiment) is the only full-time Commando Unit in the Australian Army. On successful completion of your Commando Selection and Training Course and during the Commando Reinforcement and Training Cycle, you will be moved to 2 Commando Regiment which is located at Holsworthy, NSW. It is here that you will continue your Commando reinforcement training and if successful, it is here that you will be posted.
Holsworthy is located approximately 50 km west of the Sydney central business district. Holsworthy provides easy access to Canberra, the Blue Mountains and the South Coast of NSW, with convenient freeway and rail links to central Sydney and Sydney Airport.
Other Ranks (Non Technical) (Reserve)
1 Commando Regiment is the only part-time Commando unit in the Australian Army. On enlistment, you will be posted to 1 Commando Regiment and on successful completion of your Commando Selection and Training Course and during your Commando Reinforcement Training, you will be employed within 1 Commando Regiment at either 1 Company located at Mosman NSW or 2 Company at Williamstown Vic. |
