Due to a recent security audit at VBM, the VBOM is required to reinforce procedures relating to Honorary Members and their visitors attending the Mess.
Honorary members are encouraged to obtain an Honorary Member's Mess Pass. The relevant pass application is below.
You are requested to:
- Complete the attached form.
- Return the form to CAPT A. Zimmer on the address below or by email or fax.
- Include a contact number with your reply.
We will contact you when your form has been approved by the authorising officer. You will then have to make an appointment for a pass photo with VBM Front Gate by ringing 03 9282 6447. Appointments can be made Monday to Friday between 0900—1100 and 1400—1600. Your pass will be issued during your appointment.
An Honorary Member's Mess Pass entitles the holder to travel from the point of entry to the Mess and return only.
Honorary members do not have the authority to sign in their guests to VBM. Only holders of a permanent Defence Access Pass (ADF/Defence Civilians employees) are permitted to sign in visitors.
VBOM requests Honorary Members who intend on inviting guests to the Mess for functions or other events, ensure their guest name is provided to the VBOM Mess Manager.
VBOM requests that a list of names be submitted to the VBOM Mess Manager not less than 2 working days prior to the event so that the individual's name can be placed on the function guest list. If a guest is not contained on the list, that person will be refused access to VBM.
You are encouraged to apply for a pass at your earliest convenience to facilitate your access to the Mess. The Barracks Security Officer has also asked that you be reminded that the VBM access control orders place the responsibility for guests upon their hosts.
The VBOM Committee thanks you all for your continued support and patronage of the VBOM.
