Families and friends of recruits are invited to attend the March Out Parade at the Army Recruit Training Centre, Kapooka. March Out Parades are held to celebrate the end of the Recruit training course and mark the transition from Recruit to Soldier.
March Out Parades are conducted on the Blamey Barracks Parade ground. If you would like to attend the parade, follow the signs at the front gate which will direct you to the parking area. If there is any confusion, please ask the Security Guard at the Camp front gate who will provide further direction on your arrival.
A bus will collect you from the parking area and take you to the Blamey Barracks parade ground.
The Parade will be conducted on the Army Recruit Training Centre Parade Ground commencing at 10:00am. Guests are requested to be seated by 9:45am. The March-Out Function, including lunch, will be held directly following the parade in the Edmondson VC Club, within Blamey Barracks. If you, or those accompanying you have any special needs, you are to enter through the main gate and will be ushered /escorted to the parade ground. You are required to be at the main gate not before 8:45 am. Please inform your recruit about this, so that numbers can be made known to security staff at the main gate. Easy-access parking will be arranged accordingly.
Due to base security requirements and the distance of the carpark from the parade ground, all visitors will be required to use the buses provided to move within the confines of Kapooka. Information tours of the base are conducted on the morning of each marchout. If you wish to undertake a tour please arrive at Kapooka not later than 8:50am. Two buses will leave the main carpark area (Kapooka Picnic ground vicinity) at 9:00 am and 9:10 am to take you to the parade ground. At the conclusion of the parade, the two buses will once again transport you to the Edmondson VC Club for the march out function.
At the conclusion of the marchout function (12:00 am to 1:30 pm) buses will be provide to return you to the Kapooka picnic ground which incorporates picnic facilities and a childrens playground. All visitors are to be cleared from the Edmondson VC Club by 1:30 pm.

As ARA March Out Parades are conducted on Friday mornings, it is requested that you do not occupy the carpark prior to 2:15 pm.
The Parade will be conducted on the Army Recruit Training Centre Parade Ground commencing at 3:30pm. You are requested to be seated by 3:15pm. The March-Out Function, including dinner, will be held directly following the parade in the Edmondson VC Club, within Blamey Barracks. If you, or those accompanying you have any special needs, you are to enter through the main gate and will be ushered /escorted to the parade ground. You are required to be at the main gate not before 2:45 pm. Please inform your recruit about this, so that numbers can be made known to security staff at the main gate. On the Sunday after the march out parade their will be a church service. This church service is open to all recruits and their guests.
Guests are requested to follow the signs at the front gate to the parking area where a bus will collect you and take you to the Soldier’s Chapel.
The Church service will commence at 0900 h and conclude at approximately 0940 h. There is an opportunity to have morning tea after the church service in the Soldier’s Chapel with the recruits. The buses to return guests to their vehicles will commence at 1030 h.
For a number of reasons, recruits may not complete recruit training; be able to march out with their Platoon; or particular March Out parades may be cancelled or postponed. These eventualities may occur at short notice.
Guests are strongly encouraged to purchase deferrable and/or refundable travel tickets and accommodation bookings; take out travel insurance; or to make other suitable arrangements to protect against loss or expense arising from such eventualities.
Whilst every effort is made to notify recruits as soon as possible of any such eventualities, the Commonwealth is not responsible and accepts no liability for any loss suffered or expense incurred arising from such eventualities.
