SUPPORT YOUR FAMILY MEMBER

It's a big decision to join the Army and probably one that requires a fair bit of thought. It's a demanding career and the hours aren't always nine to five but the rewards members get out of it are unlike any other job.

A career in the Army is both a job decision and a lifestyle choice. When your family member arrives at Kapooka and encounters the Army life for the first time, they may find it a bit daunting and it will sometimes come as a shock. This is because at ARTC we must fit a lot into the training program and the training is intense so that we can be assured that Australia has the best soldiers that we can produce. We are also preparing them for further training and eventually service in the Australian Army as a highly professional and well trained soldier.

During this time there is a lot of support that is available to the recruits to help them through their course. But the support doesn't stop there. There is also a range of information and assistance that we can offer families and likewise, the support and encouragement from the families provides a big boost for the recruits during training and often a well needed source of encouragement.

This website will provide you with marchout information, an insight into the training here, and the type of support that you can provide to help them through. Please view our Frequently Asked Questions for family members to answer any queries you may have.
