Salary and Super Competitiveness

Recently, Army has been involved in a process of remuneration reform that significantly improved and simplified both soldier and officer pay grades.

The Graded Other Ranks Pay Structure (GORPS) is a streamlined 10 pay grade structure and has resulted in increased salary for soldiers, in particular at the ranks of Corporal and Sergeant.

The Graded Officer Pay Structure (GOPS) is a streamlined 9 pay grade structure and has resulted in increased salary for officers, in particular at the ranks of Lieutenant to Major.

MSBS continues to be a very attractive superannuation scheme when compared to civilian equivalents. Both MSBS and DFRDB allow re-entry for members returning to Army.
