Aim

To train selected Military Police members with the necessary skills, knowledge and attitudes for employment as a Military Police Dog Handler.

General

This is a Military Police course that is conducted over 60 working days. Selected members must be deemed suitable to become a dog handler; therefore they must meet the prerequisites and pre-course experience before being panelled.

Prerequisites

  • RANK: CPL - WO2

  • ECN: 315-4 for 12 months

  • PES: MEC 1 or MEC 2 (with RMO waiver)

  • COURSES: SPBC

  • IR: Must be IR compliant

  • OJT: Must complete a period of OJT with a recommendation of suitable

Minimum of two weeks On The Job (OJT) experience and be deemed suitable.
