February 2010
3 February 2010 - The first of 250 soldiers was laid to rest on Saturday 30 January with full military honours. Buried by his military peers, in an individual grave, the service provided the opportunity for ministers from the both the Australian and British governments to pay their respects alongside the people of Fromelles.
Further burials have progressed well this week, with the northern French winter being especially kind. Each day has provided ample opportunity for the soldiers to reflect on the importance of the task at hand.
The task is sombre, but each service by a military padre and burial party brings the project closer to providing some answers to families left without them for generations.
