Past Activity

  • We have almost travelled around to all of the Primary schools in Townsville. Seems every second day we are playing to another group of keen students. The Band really enjoys the reception we receive playing at schools, and want to thank each school group that we have been to for your appreciation and support. We have a few more school concerts coming up in the months to follow, so if you haven't seen us at your school yet watch out for us!!
  • It was great to be involved with the Australian Festival of Chamber Music again this year. We enjoyed playing with the phenominal didjeridoo player Wiliam Barton and then again after the final concert. Hopefully the relationship between the two musical organisations can continue long into the future.
  • Wasn't the Cultural Festival fantastic this year!! The band was honoured to play a short bracket followed by the Anthem at the opening ceremony. Hopefully you enjoyed what we had to offer on the night and you hope to see you all back there to support a great community event next year.
  • The Band travelled out to Mount Isa for a few days to support the Bush Kids Fundraiser and to perfrom for the schools in the local area. It has been 9 years since the band made it out to the Isa and we hope that all of the kids who came and saw us were inspired and impressed with our concerts. Of course the dinner was a major success, with everyone who attended digging deep and helping to raise a massive amount of money.
  • If you want to any more details about what the band has in the upcoming months, just contact us .

Text to the Editor

Thank you to the teacher from Weir SS that took the time to Text the Editor in the Townsville Bulletin a few weeks ago:

We appreciate you going to the effort to recognise our performance and everyone in the band is glad that you and others at your school enjoyed the concert. The Band is trying to get around to all of the schools in the Townsville, and some from the North QLD region, this year. We hope that you will watch for when we are at your school, or your child's school, and encourage everyone to come and see our concert.

Thanks again MT
