Social Life

DINING IN NIGHTS
Corps Dining In nights are a fun and highly entertaining night and provide the perfect opportunity to reflect on the successes of cadets as well as some of the funnier moments that occurred throughout the year. They also provide the opportunity to educate cadets on mess etiquette and what will be expected of them in the Officer's Mess. As a member of the Corps, each session you will attend one Corps and one Company Dining In night.

CADET FUNCTIONS
Although the training program is very demanding there are also plenty of opportunities to relax and socialise with your mates. Cadet Functions held in the Mess provide this opportunity. Previous functions include an Eighties function, an Australiana Ball and a Wannabe Ball. These nights provide many laughs and some excellent photo opportunities as cadets and their family enjoys a live band and good food in a casual atmosphere.

LIFE IN THE MESS
While cadets gather at the mess everyday for meals it is not the only activity that occurs here. The mess provides many hours of entertainment with its bar, TV room with cable channels and pool room. Tea and coffee refreshments also provide a much needed boost during breaks from lessons. Casey's Bar provides the perfect place for catching up with mates. This outdoor bar provides a relaxed setting where you and your mates can sit and chat while enjoying a drink.

MATESHIP
Mateship is an essential commodity within any military environment. It forms naturally and instinctively between comrades. It is a forged bond of blood, sweat and tears that links each of us together in a unique way. Only your fellow Staff Cadets have experienced the highs and lows that RMC-D has to offer and this shared mutual experience creates an intense bond of friendship. This mateship extends from work issues to social issues and helps a team to work more effectively as you don't want to let your mates down.
