The Duntroon Brass was first formed in the 1970's with a need to provide smaller ensembles for College Dinners and diversify the RMC Band's larger ensemble into smaller chamber groups.
The versatility and variety of music played by the Duntroon Brass has put them in great demand for all manner of musical engagements. They are a very versatile ensemble able to play in all weather conditions and locations.
The Duntroon Brass are frequently involved in engagements ranging from unveiling commemorative plaques at the Australian War Memorial, performing for Royalty and Overseas dignitaries at Parliamentary Luncheons at Parliament House and providing background music for official dinners and commemorative ceremonies at Government House.
The section has a vast and diverse range of music - from Bach to the Beatles, Sousa to Lovelock.
The Duntroon Brass performs approximately 30 engagements per year, along with the other RMC Band commitments they are involved with.
