Also located within PSP is the Directorate of Conditions Information and Policy Services (DCIPS). DCIPS is responsible for drafting and managing Defence determinations to support policy decisions on ADF pay and conditions of service, and ADF/APS overseas conditions of service.

The Tribunal was established in 1984 to enable the pay and allowances of members of the Australian Defence Force (ADF) to be determined having regard to the special nature of Defence Force service. The Tribunal has now been operating for over 15 years.

The Australian Defence Force Financial Services Consumer Council (ADFFSCC) is prepared to undertake visits to units to help Commanding Officers and their personnel should they require assistance as a result of the implementation of the recent retention bonuses.
