Army Cricketers take on ADF and Pakistan Teams
13 November 2017

The 2017 ADF National Inter-Service Cricket Championships will be conducted in Sydney and Canberra between Fri 10 Nov 17 and Sat 25 Nov 17. This carnival will incorporate both Men’s and Women’s competitions playing both One Day Limited Over and T20 cricket. At the completion of the National Championships, Men’s and Women’s ADF Combined Services teams will be selected to play a series of one-day and T20 matches against a variety of high performance cricket teams in the NSW/ACT region.

The 2017 ADF National Interservice Cricket Championship includes the following competitions:

Remembrance Day Match. His Excellency General The Honourable David Hurley, AC, DSC (Retired), Governor of New South Wales, has reinvigorated the relationship between Cricket ADF and Cricket NSW through revitalising what was previously an annual Governor XI versus Combined Services cricket match. In line with modern Services cricket, the revitalised event will see both a men’s and a women’s Combined Services team play respective T20 games; to be known as the Remembrance Day Matches, against Governor’s XI teams on the 10 Nov 17 at the Shore School War Memorial Oval, Northbridge.
Governor General’s XI. As part of the domestic schedule of International cricket matches each Summer, the Governor General selects a team of emerging female players to play a tour match against the visiting international side as a warm up T20 match. This year, a women’s ADF representative will be selected to play in the match against the touring English Women at Drummoyne oval on 15 Nov 17.
Men’s National Services Championships. Competition between the three ADF national service teams: Navy, Army and Air Force challenging for the Lindsay Hassett, MBE National Inter-Services Championship Trophy in a 50 over one day limited overs competition.
