The 2017 ADF National Inter-Service Cricket Championships will be conducted in Sydney and Canberra between Fri 10 Nov 17 and Sat 25 Nov 17. This carnival will incorporate both Men’s and Women’s competitions playing both One Day Limited Over and T20 cricket. At the completion of the National Championships, Men’s and Women’s ADF Combined Services teams will be selected to play a series of one-day and T20 matches against a variety of high performance cricket teams in the NSW/ACT region.
The 2017 ADF National Interservice Cricket Championship includes the following competitions:
Remembrance Day Match. His Excellency General The Honourable David Hurley, AC, DSC (Retired), Governor of New South Wales, has reinvigorated the relationship between Cricket ADF and Cricket NSW through revitalising what was previously an annual Governor XI versus Combined Services cricket match. In line with modern Services cricket, the revitalised event will see both a men’s and a women’s Combined Services team play respective T20 games; to be known as the Remembrance Day Matches, against Governor’s XI teams on the 10 Nov 17 at the Shore School War Memorial Oval, Northbridge.
Governor General’s XI. As part of the domestic schedule of International cricket matches each Summer, the Governor General selects a team of emerging female players to play a tour match against the visiting international side as a warm up T20 match. This year, a women’s ADF representative will be selected to play in the match against the touring English Women at Drummoyne oval on 15 Nov 17.
Men’s National Services Championships. Competition between the three ADF national service teams: Navy, Army and Air Force challenging for the Lindsay Hassett, MBE National Inter-Services Championship Trophy in a 50 over one day limited overs competition.
Women’s National Services Championships. Competition between the three national service teams: Navy, Army and Air Force challenging for the RADM Mark Campbell AM, CSC, RAN National Inter-Services Championship Trophy in a 40 over one day limited over competition.
Men’s Australian Services T20 Championships. Competition between the three national service teams: Navy, Army and Air Force, challenging for the Air Chief Marshal Sir Angus Houston AK, AFC Australian Services Twenty20 Cup in a T20 competition.
Women’s Australian Services T20 Championships. Competition between the three national service teams: Army, Navy and Air Force women’s teams challenging for the Flying Officer Reginald Sydney Ellis Women’s Australian Services Twenty20 Cup in a T20 competition.
Champion Service. A points based competition from the results of all matches (except the T20 finals) in the tournament for the Governor General, His Excellency General Sir Peter Cosgrove AK, MC Shield. Points gained in T20 matches are worth half that of the points in one day matches.
ADF Combined Services Domestic Tour (Men’s and Women’s). The carnival will be followed by a short local tour for the two ADF Combined Services teams.
Pakistan Army participation. The Pakistan Army Cricket team will be touring Australia and will be hosted by the Australian Army Cricket Association.The Pakistan Army team will play three T20 friendly matches against the Australian Army pre-Nationals and will then participate in the 2017 Nationals playing against the “bye” team each round. The Pakistan Army will not be competing for the National Championship.

One day limited over matches (40 over match) – hours of play:
(1) 1000 h – 1245 h – first innings
(2) 1245 h – 1345 h – lunch interval
(3) 1345 h – 1630 h – second innings.
One day limited over matches (50 over match) – hours of play:
(1) 1000 h – 1320 h – first innings
(2) 1320 h – 1410 h – lunch interval
(3) 1410 h – 1730 h – second innings.
