New CA - Lieutenant General Angus Campbell
Lieutenant General Angus Campbell DSC, AM will be appointed Chief of the Army on 16 May 2015.
Lieutenant General Campbell brings a wealth of experience to the role. Lieutenant General Campbell has served as the Commander of the Joint Agency Task Force for Operation Sovereign Borders, overseen operations in the Middle East as Commander Joint Task Force 633 and commanded on operations in Timor-Leste.
He also served as Deputy National Security Adviser in the Department of Prime Minister and Cabinet.
The Government thanks the current Chief of the Army, Lieutenant General David Morrison AO, for his significant work and service as Chief of Army for the past four years.
Lieutenant General David Morrison will complete his tenure on 15 May 2015 after having served with distinction and demonstrating outstanding leadership as the Chief of the Army, notably as an advocate for cultural change and gender equality in the Australian Defence Force.
Air Vice-Marshal Gavin Davies AO, CSC will be promoted to Air Marshal and appointed as Chief of Air Force on 4 July 2015.
