Australian Defence Force (ADF) personnel will conduct counter-terrorism training in Sydney from mid-to-late November 2018.
The training will be conducted during the day and night and involves responses to simulated terrorist scenarios at Defence sites and some civilian infrastructure across Sydney.
The public should not be alarmed if they see or hear military helicopters, watercraft, unmanned aerial surveillance systems, vehicles and military personnel carrying weapons and using blank gunfire and pyrotechnics.
People who see the training should not be concerned that any of the locations are under any form of actual threat.
Training such as this helps ensure Australia remain among the best counter-terrorism response capabilities in the world.
The ADF is unable to provide media access or further information, including specific timings, regarding this training in order to protect operational tactics, techniques and procedures.
