Australian Defence Force (ADF) personnel will conduct martime counter-terrorism training in Sydney Harbour and Jervis Bay, NSW, in early May 2019.
The training will be conducted during the day and night and involves responses to simulated terrorist scenarios at Defence sites and the surrounding waters.
The public should not be alarmed if they see or hear military watercraft and vehicles, and military personnel carrying weapons and using blank or paint gunfire.
People who see the training should not be concerned that any of the locations are under any form of actual threat.
Training such as this helps ensure the Australia remains among the best counter-terrorism response capabilities in the world.
The ADF is unable to provide media access or further information, including specific timings, regarding this training in order to protect operational tactics, techniques and procedures.
