Prescribed hazard reduction burn with RFS will be conducted on sections of the Holsworthy Training Area (Holsworthy Barracks) which will generate smoke over the period 28th of September to 04 October 2024.
In accordance with State Legislation, planned hazard reduction burns are conducted for a range of purposes including:
- Reducing the likelihood and severity of bushfires on the training area and surrounding areas;
- Improving the ecosystems health and resilience.
A smoke haze may be evident for some days after the completion of the burns.
The Australian Defence Force thanks the public for their patience and cooperation while this essential activity is being conducted.
