Australian Army personnel, heavy vehicles, and towed artillery pieces from the 1st Regiment, Royal Australian Artillery will operate in and around the Coalbank and Haden areas between 16-17 February 2026 as part of an artillery battery deployment training activity.
The exercise will involve the movement of heavy vehicles and the deployment of artillery equipment. No blank firing or live firing will be conducted during this activity.
Activities will occur until 08:00pm on the evening of 16 February, and until 3:00pm on 17 February.
The community can expect an increase in activity, including noise from vehicle movement and equipment operations, during this period. This is a routine training activity and the community should not be alarmed. Defence will have safety officers on the ground assisting with the coordination of the activity.
