Australian Army personnel and heavy vehicles from 8/9 Battalion, The Royal Australian Regiment will operate in and around the Atkinson Dam and Glengarry Education Centre as part of a vital training activity. 

The training will occur between Tuesday 24 March and Thursday 26 March 2026. 

It will involve the movement of heavy vehicles, watercraft, aircraft and personnel carrying weapons. 

The training will be conducted both during the day and at night.

The community can expect an increase in activity, including noise from vehicles, watercraft, aircraft movement and equipment operations, during this period. 

The firing of blank ammunition will occur during this activity.

Noise disturbances will be minimised where possible and the ADF thanks the public for their patience and cooperation while this essential training is being conducted.

This is a routine training activity and the community should not be alarmed. Defence will have safety officers on the ground assisting with the coordination of the activity.
