Australian Army soldiers from the 11th Engineer Regiment will undertake watermanship training along the Brisbane River on 18 April 2026.

This activity will include landing at the Queensland Maritime Museum at Southbank, where troops will conduct training in search operations.

This training provides the troops with essential boat handling skills in addition to their specific engineering skillsets. Additional support to this training is being provided by soldiers and signallers from other 11 Brigade units.

Personnel will be armed, but they will not be carrying ammunition of any kind.

Brisbane City Council, Queensland Police and emergency services are aware of this scheduled activity.

Members of the community are welcome to observe but are asked to maintain their distance as the troops undertake this training.

Army thanks the public for their patience and cooperation while this essential training is being conducted.
