Australian Defence Force (ADF) aircraft will operate in and around the Coalbank, Haden and Peranga regions as part of essential training activities from 11 to 22 May 2026.
The training will involve the movement of personnel, multiple aircraft, heavy vehicles and blank firing.
Training activities will predominantly occur during daylight hours, with up to three evenings of night activity concluding no later than 11:00pm. Training will be pause for the duration of the weekend.
Community members may notice an increase in aircraft activity and associated noise, as well as additional vehicle movements and equipment operations during this period.
This is a routine training activity and the community should not be alarmed. Defence will have safety officers on the ground assisting with the coordination of the activity.
The flying activity schedule is subject to change, including short notice cancellation, due to variables such as air traffic control, weather and other aviation considerations.
This training is vital to maintain the world class capabilities the Australian Defence Force provides the government in defence of the nation.
