Australian Defence Force (ADF) helicopters and personnel will conduct aviation training across the Greater Sydney Region, Port Kembla, and Jervis Bay in May 2026.
The training will be conducted throughout the day and night, and involves responses to simulated threat scenarios.
These activities are essential to ensure the ADF remains prepared to respond safely and effectively to short-notice tasks in accordance with Government direction.
Members of the public may notice an increase in military helicopter movements and associated noise during this period. They should not be alarmed if they see or hear military helicopters flying low over urban areas.
No live ammunition will be used during the training.
The flying activity schedule is subject to change, including short notice cancellation, due to variables such as air traffic control, weather and other aviation considerations.
Noise disturbances will be minimised where possible and the ADF thanks the public for their patience and cooperation.
