Military personnel, vehicles and equipment from the Australian Defence Force (ADF) and partner nations will operate throughout Queensland in support of Exercise Pozieres Run 2026. The exercise will be conducted within the Shoalwater Bay Training Area and Townsville Field Training Area.

From 13 July, the community can expect an increased presence of Australian and international military personnel, increased military vehicle movements on roads, and military watercraft operating off the coast.

Residents may also experience loud noise associated with the use of explosive ordnance and increased aircraft activity throughout the exercise period.

This is a routine training activity. 

The ADF appreciates the ongoing support and understanding of the local community.
