A prescribed hazard reduction burn will be conducted on Defence land within the Greenbank Training area over the period 26 August to 07 September 2026.
Greenbank Training Area is described generally as the area bounded by Centenary Highway, Springfield Beaudesert Connect, Goodna Road, Staplyton Road, Middle Road and Johnson Road.
This hazard reduction burn will generate smoke and a smoke haze may be present for some days after the burn. Conduct of this activity is weather dependent.
In accordance with State Legislation, planned hazard reduction burns are conducted for a range of purposes, including:
- Reducing the likelihood and severity of bushfires on Defence owned land and surrounding areas; and
- To improve ecosystem health and resilience.
