Australian Defence Force (ADF) personnel will conduct training from 19 to 30 October 2026 near Innisfail and Mourilyan Harbour.

Members of the public may see ADF personnel in military uniforms carrying weapons, and also role-playing ADF personnel wearing civilian plain clothes and carrying weapons.

Members of the public should not be alarmed.

Blank ammunition that makes a loud sound will be used for training purposes.

Noise disturbances will be minimised where possible and the ADF thanks the public for their patience and cooperation.

The training will be conducted throughout the day and night and involves responses to simulated threat scenarios.

The Queensland Police Service have been informed to avoid confusion.

This training is vital to maintain the world-class capabilities the Australian Defence Force provides the government in defence of the nation.
