The Australian Army is actively involved in community engagement in Australia and overseas. Through these activities we strengthen our knowledge and contribute to improving the lives of others.

Operation Bushfire Assist 2019 - 2020

From December 2019, the Australian Army has moved to a significantly enhanced operational footing, to assist state and territory authorities with the bushfire emergency support.

The Army Aboriginal Community Assistance Programme (AACAP) began in 1997 and is an ongoing commitment that reinforces the strong association between Army and the Indigenous peoples of northern and central Australia. It is a joint initiative between the Department of Prime Minister and Cabinet and Army.
