Warrant Officer (WOFF) Ken Robertson enlisted into the Royal Australian Air Force in 1995 from Western Australia as a Personnel Capability Specialist.

WOFF Robertson spent the formative years of his career posted to RAAF Williams. During this posting WOFF Robertson served within the Base Personnel Administration Centre, RAAF College and as a Weapons Instructor at the RAAF Williams (Pt Cook) Armoury. He was also attached to the RAAF Security & Fire School, as well as, Anglesea Barracks during this time.

In 2001, WOFF Robertson was posted to 3 Squadron, RAAF Williamtown. During this time, he was accepted for training as a Military Skills Instructor at RAAF Edinburgh after which he was posted to RAAF Wagga for duty, Military Training Flight. On promotion to Sergeant in 2005, WOFF Robertson was posted to the RAAF School of Technical Training as a Personnel Capability Specialist Instructor.

In 2008, WOFF Robertson was identified for promotion to Flight Sergeant and undertook the role of Acting Base Warrant Officer Disciplinary (WOD) at RAAF Wagga. WOFF Robertson was awarded a Chief of Air Force Gold Commendation for his performance during this period. Later that year, WOFF Robertson was successful on applying for remuster to WOD and post-graduation was posted to 31 Squadron for duty, Base WOD. It was during this posting in 2009 that he was deployed on Operation Slipper as Squadron WOD for Task Unit 633.2.1, supporting C130J operations.

In 2011, WOFF Robertson was posted to 1 Recruit Training Unit as the Unit WOD. It was during this posting in 2013 that he was deployed on Operation Slipper as the Base WOD for Multi-National Base Tarin Kot. In 2015, WOFF Robertson was posted to Officers’ Training School as the Unit WOD. During this posting he was awarded an Air Force Silver Level Commendation and completed the Joint Warrant Officer Course, Royal Australian Air Force Commanders Course and Squadron Leader Residential Course.

WOFF Robertson was a student on the Australian Army, Regimental Sergeant Major Course in Nov 2016 and subsequently deployed to the Middle East in Jan 2017 for twelve months as the Command Warrant Officer (CWO) Joint Task Force 633. WOFF Robertson was awarded a Medal of the Order of Australia in recognition of his efforts on this deployment. In 2018, WOFF Robertson was appointed the Group WOFF for Surveillance and Response Group at HQSRG, RAAF Williamtown and in 2019, deployed to Nellis AFB (Nevada, USA) as the Australian Task Group WOFF for Exercise Red Flag. In Sep 2019, WOFF Robertson was appointed ‘Air Command Warrant Officer’ with responsibility to Air Commander Australia as the Command Senior Enlisted Leader. On 17 Jan 2022, WOFF Robertson began his appointment as ‘Warrant Officer Joint Operations’ at Headquarters Joint Operations Command with responsibility to Commander Joint Operations as the Command Senior Enlisted Leader.

WOFF Robertson holds Diplomas in Business and Management. WOFF Robertson is a graduate of the Australian Strategic Policy Institute (ASPI) ‘Niagara’ Senior Air Force Officer Development Program, as well as, the National Defense University (US) ‘Keystone’ Command Senior Enlisted Leader Course in Joint & Combined Studies.

WOFF Robertson is married to Melissa and they have three children, Georgia, Jade and Jaxon. WOFF Robertson enjoys West Coast Eagles Australian Rules Football, Basketball and spending time with his family.
