The Australian Army has invited senior military leaders from the Australian Army, Australian Defence Force, Australian government organisations, international military representatives and academics to participate in year’s exercise.
Three focus areas have been identified to provide a basis for discussion and analysis:
• Lessons from Contemporary Operations for Future Land Forces in the Indo–Pacific
• Challenges of Regional Engagement in the Indo–Pacific
• Modernisation of Land Forces.
The format is designed to maximise discussion and interaction by capitalising on the collective knowledge and experience of attendees. Each plenary session will be led by a panel of three or four speakers and followed by a questions and answer session.
In addition to the plenary sessions a keynote speech addressing Regional Cooperation in the Indo–Pacific will be delivered during the Chief of Army’s Exercise 14 Dinner on evening of 22 September 2014.
The Chief of Army’s Exercise 2014 is being conducted alongside Land Defence Australia’s Land Forces 14 Exposition, which is being held at the same venue from 22 – 25 September 2014.
Land Forces 2014 is a comprehensive international industry exhibition to showcase land-defence equipment, technology and services for the armies of Australia, Asia and the Pacific region. The exercise timetable has several opportunities for exercise participants to interact with Land Forces 2014 exhibitors and defence industry representatives.
Land Forces 2014 is open to the public see the event website for more information and registration details.
