Health Care, Science and Chaplaincy

Nurses, Dentists, Doctors, Environmental Health Officers and Chaplains play a vital role in the ongoing health and welfare of the Army.
- Lieutenant Michelle Rourke
Science has always been a passion for Army Lieutenant Michelle Rourke. Now she spends most of her time monitoring dengue infections in Defence members who are deployed to Timor-Leste and the Solomon Islands on a career path she would never have imagined.
- Mr Brian Manns
At 65 years of age you would be forgiven for thinking that Brian Manns was retired or close to retirement but he has no plans to leave the Defence workforce soon.
- Private Ashley Evans
Local girl from Burnie, 20 year old Ashley Evans recently completed her recruit course at Kapooka for a career in the Army. While waiting for her next course to prepare her for a specialised career in the Army as a medical technician, she decided to assist at the annual Australian Army Skill at Arms Meeting (AASAM).
