Warrant Officer Class One Jae Robinson, OAM, was born in New Zealand. He enlisted into the Australian Army in 1991 and was assigned to the Royal Australian Armoured Corps. 

Warrant Officer Class One Jae Robinson served as a driver/signaller, crew commander and section commander in B Squadron, 3rd/4th Cavalry Regiment, in armoured personnel carriers. His troop corporal, troop sergeant and squadron sergeant major postings were all with 2nd Cavalry Regiment sabre squadrons.

Warrant Officer Class One Jae Robinson has gained significant instructional experience with postings to 1st Recruit Training Battalion as a recruit instructor, School of Armour as a tactics instructor, Royal Military College at Duntroon as a small group instructor, and the Warrant Officer and Non-Commissioned Officer Academy. On promotion to Warrant Officer Class One, he was posted to the School of Armour as the senior assistant instructor. 

He is also a unit adventurous training leader in backcountry skiing and advanced roping. 

In 2008, Warrant Officer Class One Jae Robinson was posted to the 1st Light Armored Reconnaissance Battalion with the United States Marine Corps as the Battalion Gunnery Officer and the Jump Platoon Commander. He has also served with Reconnaissance Troop, The King’s Royal Hussars, during Exercise Long Look in the United Kingdom.

Warrant Officer Class One Jae Robinson has served as regimental sergeant major of various units and task groups, including: 12th/16th Hunter River Lancers, Task Group Afghanistan, Task Group Taji (Rotation IV), 1st Armoured Regiment and Headquarters 8th Brigade (Training). He was appointed the Command Sergeant Major at Special Operations Command in January 2021.

Warrant Officer Class One Jae Robinson was awarded a Medal of the Order of Australia in January 2019, and a United States Meritorious Service Medal and Navy and Marine Commendation Medal for his service with the US Marine Corps. He was also awarded a Silver Training Command Commendation for his service at the Royal Military College at Duntroon.

Warrant Officer Class One Jae Robinson has deployed to Afghanistan, Iraq, Somalia and Timor-Leste (East Timor).

Warrant Officer Class One Jae Robinson is married and has three daughters. He and his family enjoy camping, skiing, climbing and are passionate about the outdoors.
