4th Combat Service Support Battalion

4th Combat Service Support Battalion
The 4th Combat Services Support Battalion (4 CSSB) is an Army logistics unit with strong links to the inner Northern and Western suburbs of Melbourne, Victoria.

We provide the Australian Defence Force (ADF) with drivers, storemen, mechanics, medical and nursing staff, armourers, caterers and clerks.

The headquarters of 4 CSSB is located in the historic Maygar Barracks, Camp Road Broadmeadows, and from its predecessor units, has inherited the Freedom Of Entry to the Cities of Coburg, Caulfield, Sandringham and the Shire of Hume.

The members of 4 CSSB are a mixture of full-time and reservist soldiers from all walks of life - we are students, employees, family members and colleagues. We are an inclusive unit which represents the diversity and vitality of the Australian community.

4 CSSB is an integral part of greater Broadmeadows community, and also has a growing presence at country depots in Shepparton, Wangaratta, Geelong and Bandiana.

The battalion has a busy program of individual and collective training, and support tasks to maintain our competencies and readiness to support the ADF. 4 CSSB recently supported the Regional Assistance Mission to the Solomon Islands.

As an Army Reserve unit, 4 CSSB relies heavily upon the goodwill and support of our member's families, friends, employers, and local industry to assist us and our members to attend military activities.

We value and appreciate the recognition of the wider community provided to 4 CSSB, and the way in which all of the community contributes to the ADF.
