6th Combat Support Brigade

The 6th Combat Support Brigade (6 CS Bde) currently commands the Australian Army’s specialist Combat Support units. The role of 6 CS Bde is to provide Combat Support to land based forces in joint, combined and interagency operations.

The role of 6 CS Bde is to provide Combat Support to land based forces in joint, combined and interagency operations. The brigade was re-raised on 1st March 2010 and is made up of specialist intelligence, artillery, engineer and signals capabilities. The brigade is headquartered in Sydney and its units are geographically dispersed across Qld, SA and NSW. 

The 6th Combat Support Brigade currently consists of the following units: 

•    1st Intelligence Battalion
•    16th Air Land Regiment
•    19th Chief Engineer Works 
•    20th Surveillance and Target Acquisition Regiment 
•    6th Engineer Support Regiment 
•    7th Signal Regiment
