Joining the Army Band
As a member of the Australian Army Band (AAB) you’ll not only have one of the best paid jobs available as a musician, but you’ll also have the opportunity to travel nationally and internationally, play a wide variety of musical styles at an excellent standard, make life long friends and receive outstanding pay and employee benefits. These include subsidised housing, full medical and dental coverage as well as other great financial benefits that go with being a full-time Australian Defence Force member.
There are two avenues of employment within the AAB; full-time and part-time. Both are rewarding jobs which contribute to the Defence and civilian communities. The types of performances range from contemporary rock and jazz gigs, to big band and concert band performances, as well as ceremonial parades.
If you want to take the first step towards becoming a musician in the Army, email AABand.Recruiting [at] defence.gov.au (AAB Headquarters) to get information on current vacancies and the audition process. You can also visit DefenceJobs for more information.
