Over 60,000 Australians gave their lives during The Great War. UWC-A continues to work towards finding those that have no known grave.
- Messines
In June 1917 near the Belgian town of Mesen - Messines to the Australians - ANZAC troops were to engage in one of the significant battles on the Western Front. Many troops remain beneath the soil of Belgium... some with no known grave.
- Fromelles
After two years of careful investigation, excavations, recovery and identification work by a joint Australian and British Fromelles Project team, 250 Australian and British Soldiers were reinterred with full military honours in individual graves at the Fromelles (Pheasant Wood) Military Cemetery in 2010.
