On 19 July 2010 the Australian Army and the British Ministry of Defence conducted a moving ceremony at the Fromelles (Pheasant Wood) Military Cemetery in France. The ceremony marked the dedication of the cemetery and burial of the final Unknown Soldier of the 250 Australian and British soldiers who had been recovered.

The ceremony was attended by the His Royal Highness, the Prince of Wales and Ms Quentin Bryce AC, Governor-General of Australia.

A video recording of the ceremony was produced by the Commonwealth War Graves Commission and was reproduced, by the Australian Army, for the families of those Australians lost during the Battle of Fromelles.

Stocks are limited, so to get your school’s copy of the DVD email your school’s name and mailing address to Unrecovered War Casualties – Army.
